Having lived in the Albany Creek area for 16 years and had our children grow up in the area we would find it hard to move to anywhere else.
I cannot give 2.5 star rating, so I have given 3, so please note it is 0.5 star overrated in my review. My personal opinion, Albany Creek is not awful but there is nothing good about this suburb taking into account the house prices.
To be fair it is slightly cheaper than the nearest BCC suburb McDowell.Īlbany Hills, Albany Creek primary schools are not that bad and definately better than average but, again, McDowell or Aspley schools are better. For me, it is annoying and I miss Brisbane City Council where I took it as granted. As a first example, forget about yearly white waste kerb collection, so you have to get your stuff to the dump site by yourself or hire someone. If you think there is no difference between Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council's, unfortunately, there is a lot small ones. Please also keep in mind that AC is within Moreton Bay Regional Council, we also have Caboulture, Deception Bay, Lawton and so on within the council borders. Nearly forgot to mention, if you miss 6pm 359 to Albany Creek you are stuck in the CBD for an hour because the next bus only at 7 pm. Some of my coallegues live twice further but spend slightly less time to get to the office. Driving to the station also won't help you at all, you will spend same 30 minutes to Enoggera station as Old Nothern Rd is pretty busy every morning. If you dont believe me, check with Google maps and/or Translink app. The nearest stations are Carseldine, Straphpine and Enoggera, so commute to the CBD is a nightmare if you rely on the routes 357 and 359. Yes, my review is biased because I work in the CBD. We bought a house here back in 2018 and I wouldn't buy anything here again.
